George King

I'm Georgina King — most people call me George.
I've spent over 15 years working inside the social impact sector — including roles with Cancer Council NSW, Taronga Conservation Society, the McGrath Foundation and the National Heart Foundation — before I became a coach. I know the pressures and complexities of leading in this sector because I've carried them myself.

I founded Raucous Caucus in 2018 after years of watching talented, values-driven leaders move fast with little room to pause and ask whether what's got them here is still what's needed — for them, and for the people they serve. It's built on a simple, strengths-based belief: sustainable impact starts with leaders who know what they're good at, and have room to use it well.

How I work

My coaching is warm, intuitive and deeply human — blending coaching psychology, positive psychology and neuroscience to help you slow down, notice what's actually happening in you, and experiment with how you act. I work at the level of identity: who you are, what you stand for, and how that shapes the way you lead.

The work goes beyond skills, aligning values, strengths and purpose with real leadership practice. Expect a confidential, reflective space, gentle challenge, and tools you can put to use straight away.

The UNSW thread

Alongside coaching, I work part-time as a Culture & Engagement Consultant at UNSW — partnering on how the university builds leadership capability and shapes its culture. It keeps my practice grounded in system-level change, not just individual insight: how that insight actually moves through real organisations. The two roles complement each other — one keeps me close to the person, the other close to the system they lead in.

Beyond the coaching room

Mindfulness, nature, and finding beauty in the everyday shape how I show up.

I'm also a lifelong reader — libraries have held a sense of wonder for me since I was a kid, the anticipation of not yet knowing what you'll find. A few books that have stayed with me: A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry, on dignity and human connection in the hardest of circumstances; The Beginning Comes After the End by Rebecca Solnit, on hope, change and how interconnected we really are; and Empathy by Roman Krznaric, on empathy as something we can practise and grow, not just feel.

A few years ago I moved from Sydney to Mount Kembla in the Illawarra, on Dharawal Country, for a tree-sea change. Being closer to the bush and ocean keeps me grounded — and it's why I coach online, so where I live doesn't limit who I can work with.

Community involvement

I volunteer as a Board Director of ActionAid Australia, a global women's rights organisation working in partnership with women in 75 countries. What draws me to it is the same belief underneath my coaching: people already hold the answers, and the work is helping them find and use them. ActionAid calls this self-determination — backing women to shape their own agendas, rather than handing them solutions from outside.

I also coached and mentored with the RISE Project, a national initiative supporting culturally and racially marginalised women into senior leadership, through to its completion in June 2026 — and continue contributing to the Warrior Women Foundation, the For Purpose Alliance and other sector-based initiatives.
